The following committees are organized and chaired by the Officers and Board Members of ILABA, in service of fulfilling its mission and values. Access to resources produced by Committees can be found on the Resources page. Some resources may only be accessible by ILABA members. ILABA members are encouraged to join and participate on committees. If you are interested in doing so, please contact the chair of the committee below.

Academic Affairs

The goal of the Academic Programs Committee is to communicate/educate the behavior analytic academic community in Illinois, connect students across universities, and organize and collaborate with Verified Course Sequences (VCSs) across the state. 

Legislative Affairs

The goal of the Legislative Affairs Committee is to support legislative efforts related to the practice and science of behavior analysis in Illinois through educating and engaging ILABA members, legislators, and public stakeholders regarding these issues.

Practitioner Affairs

The goal of the Practitioner Education Committee is to make ILABA the number one stop for resources and education for Illinois’ behavior analyst, through the creation of a robust library of resources and hosting educational and networking events for ABA service providers.

ILABA Committees

Academic Affairs Committee

The goal of the Academic Affairs Committee is to support students, practitioners, and educators in behavior analysis in the state of Illinois by disseminating information related to research, practice, or other scientific developments. Specifically, we aim to keep our members updated on relevant information from the BACB, ABAI, and other organizational-level changes. As a committee member, you will contribute to supporting the science of behavior analysis by assisting with the development of research awards, scholarships, and other recognitions for students and scholars. Additionally, we aim to create events to support students and faculty within our state, helping them become avid consumers and producers of research and science.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging impact all of us, whether we are allies, allistic, neurodivergent, or belong to marginalized and/or BIPOC groups. We are more impactful when working together, learning together, and finding actionable ways to promote cultural humility, awareness, and competence. Our mission is to remain curious, think outside the box, be critical thinkers, and question everything.

Legislative Affairs Committee

The goal of the Legislative Affairs Committee is to support legislative efforts related to the practice and science of behavior analysis in Illinois. We aim to educate and engage ILABA members, legislators, and public stakeholders on these issues. In the upcoming year, we plan to work with DCFS to update Rule 384 informed by best practices in ABA and collaborate with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to address barriers to ABA service delivery. As a committee member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of behavior analysis in Illinois. Working alongside dedicated professionals, you will help advocate for policy changes and influence legislative decisions to advance our field.

Practitioner Affairs Committee

The goal of the Practitioner Affairs Committee is to make ILABA the primary resource for behavior analysts in Illinois. We aim to achieve this by creating a robust library of resources and hosting regularly scheduled educational and networking events for ABA service providers. As a committee member, you will contribute to making ILABA a valuable hub for professional growth and support.
